H3B/H4B – Urban living at Humboldt Harbour, Berlin

The inner-city residential and commercial complex has sustainability at the forefront

The two newbuilds H3B and H4B boast a modern, timeless architecture and create a inner-city and sophisticated ensemble facing the water at the Humboldt harbour in Berlin. The seven-storey newbuilds with an internal courtyard and underground garage not only offer office space, but also a total of 188 apartments.

Living space for every requirement

The majority of the apartments have two or three bedrooms, which are most in demand, according to the architectural practice. The larger apartments on the top floor are comparable to private houses, distinguishing themselves from the lower apartments with their exclusive height. The living spaces have an open-plan design and feature controlled ventilation with heat recovery.

Passive house-certified façade

The high-quality design of the building envelope is particularly impressive. The Schüco passive house-certified mullion/transom façade system used contributes towards the visual separation of the building areas, making the distinction between the residential and commercial areas clear. The solution also offers the highest thermal insulation values, as do the Schüco window and door systems

Multifunctional solution for large-format commercial doors with high continuous loads

The Schüco ADS 75 HD.HI (Heavy Duty High Insulated) aluminium door system combines high durability with multiple functions and attractive design options – perfect for challenging commercial buildings with high security requirements.

The extremely stable Heavy Duty system is designed specifically for heavy or oversized door leafs with large opening widths and high continuous loads.

Natural Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation Systems (NSHEVS) for vertical and skylight areas in accordance with EN 12101-2

Schüco SHEVS security system is the perfect combination of approved NSHEVS safety solutions for smoke and fire protection together with convenient ventilation functions. The highly efficient system solution ensures smoke extraction and heat exhaust ventilation during a fire and can be used for daily ventilation. With Schüco SHEVS control units, windows can be configured in a simple and convenient way using Schüco software.

Connection to standardised building management systems is ensured via a KNX interface.

Improved thermal insulation, security and fabrication

The optimised Schüco AWS 75.SI+ (Super Insulation) standard window system for the 75 mm basic depth is part of the Schüco AWS system platform and forms the basis for a range of applications in energy-efficient building envelopes. Depending on the architectural requirements, the highly thermally insulated aluminium system can be used as a punched opening, ribbon window, façade insert unit or in combination with Schüco door systems.

An additional benefit for architects and specifiers is the wide range of opening types such as tilt/slide vents, bottom-hung toplights or horizontal and vertical pivot vents.
