A family acquired an idyllic plot of land surrounded by greenery near to the Hamburg city border. Where previously a derelict building stood, architectural practice Deitlaff Schott designed and realised a newbuild, complete with an annexe, in the form of three small building structures perfectly adapted to the needs of the family.

The core idea running through the design was the harmonious connection of the house and nature. Through flowing transitions between inside and outside, the aim was to enable the established trees to be experienced at all times. The house therefore appears modest from the street, but opens out fully onto the garden. This is achieved primarily by a Panorama Design sliding door which forms a glass front measuring three metres high by two metres wide and, thanks to a level threshold, provides barrier-free access.
