Project description

The Luxe Lakes Eco-City in Chengdu’s burgeoning Tianfu New District is an urban development with an area of 5.5 km² and a large man-made lake. Given the paucity of opportunities for ecological development in the region, the new Eco-city is a great option for city dwellers wanting to swap the hustle and bustle of the metropolis for a quieter life close to nature. The Luxe Lakes Eco-City has it all: from residential areas and schools to business districts, through to hotels, parks and entertainment facilities.

Luxe Lake Villas, a community of 46 new-build luxury residences on an island in the 1.5 km² lake, was designed by Griffin Enright Architects. Each of the narrow row houses is pinched at its centre to create courtyards and internal pathways with fantastic views of the surrounding nature.

To provide the residents with a sense of being close to nature on a large scale, the building design incorporates thermally insulated Schüco Design sliding doors. Thanks to their narrow face widths and large-format vents, they facilitate attractive solutions for spaces flooded with light. The doors also boast a high degree of weathertightness as well as smooth, almost silent running characteristics. There is also a focus on functionality, convenience and design in the Schüco window, door and façade systems used.

Thermally insulated sliding and lift-and-slide construction with attractive design options and comfort features

The Schüco ASS 50 sliding and lift-and-slide system combines thermal properties with a broad spectrum of architectural options and a high degree of flexibility specifically for commercial projects.

With its narrow face widths and large-scale vents, the thermally insulated system enables attractive solutions to be created for rooms that are flooded with light – with easy, almost silent operation and outstanding weathertightness.

The wide range of fittings, handles and colours guarantees that the system can be perfectly adapted to individual design requirements.

Versatile façade window with simple installation

The Schüco AWS 114 window system stands for high efficiency in production, installation and operation, and can be designed as a parallel-opening or projected top-hung window.

With its large vent formats. the functional system can be integrated seamlessly into different façade geometries – even for high vent weights.

As a thermally insulated façade window with standard insulating glazing and a continuous glazing bead, the insert unit offers a diverse range of design options for integration in nearly all Schüco façade systems.

High-performance mullion/transom façade with 60 mm face width – the basis for a variety of solutions

The Schüco FWS 60 façade system is an impressive basic system for façades and skylight areas with a high level of flexibility and attractive design options, including optimised fabrication and installation processes. Thanks to a broad system range, solutions for the most varied requirements and applications can be implemented.

A transparent system solution integrated in the profile for spandrel safety barriers blends seamlessly and elegantly into the external façade appearance.

Wide variety of window solutions to meet the requirements of international markets

The thermally insulated standard window system for the 60 mm basic depth offers an extensive range of solutions for a variety of building envelope requirements.

It is based on the functional and design properties of the aluminium system: perfectly tailored components combine benefits such as narrow face widths and concealed, standard manual or electromechanical fittings for inward and outward-opening windows.

The high level of flexibility of the system ensures a variety of uses as a punched opening, ribbon window or façade insert unit, as well as in combination with Schüco door systems.

Highly stable system – optimised for continuous loads in commercial construction

Large-scale door constructions fabricated using the Schüco ADS 65 HD (Heavy Duty) door system create striking visual features that grant every building a special character. In public buildings especially, the robust aluminium doors offer maximum stability, even with heavy use and large opening widths.

Compatibility with Schüco window and façade systems means there is a wide a range of possible uses and designs, particularly in commercial construction.
