A modern interpretation of la dolce vita
Borrowing from the minimalist style of Mies van der Rohe and Richard Neutra, with a little dash of Bella Italia – that's a good way to describe the design of architect Antonio Tanzini's house. Located between the Ligurian Sea and the Apuan Alps, in the fashionable Italian seaside resort of Forte dei Marmi, the villa's open-plan design makes it an ode to effortlessness and the perfect place for la dolce vita.
Asymmetrical levels
Antonio Tanzani planned a modern family home that reflected the owners and consists of only one floor which is, however, characterised by being over two levels. The living area is the most spacious part of the complex. The sleeping area features a series of right-angled clusters and consists of five suites. Both areas are located by a large pool with a sun deck over which a small bridge arches, which leads to the main, lakeside entrance.
Architecture flooded with light
The living and garden areas are in constant dialogue. Large windows and Panorama Design sliding doors from Schüco support the architectural plans to create a clear relationship between inside and outside. Alongside the especially narrow profile face widths, the system also contributes the level-access threshold of the sliding doors, so that as much daylight as possible can enter the building.
